The traditional Christmas tram dates back to the 1960s and continues to be popular with tram rides booked out up until Christmas Eve.
Complete with jingling bells, Christmas carols and plenty of festive cheer, families are sure to enjoy the ride.
On Tuesday students from Kalianna Special School and Bendigo Special Development School enjoyed a complimentary ride on the Santa Tram.
“We are grateful to Bendigo Tramways for extending this invitation to our school,” Kalianna class teacher Jenine Threlfall said.
“The children who are taking part are so looking forward to ending their school year on such a positive and exciting note.”
A number of organisations donate products, time and expertise to bringing the Santa Tram back each year.
This year Bendigo Toyworld donated the gifts for the second year running and the tram was decorated by a local yarn bombing group
